Our Barista Training Program is designed to support our foodservice customers to ensure consistency and quality beyond the roasting and production of our coffee. Our courses cater to individuals at all skill levels, from aspiring baristas with no prior experience to seasoned professionals looking to enhance their craft, we offer a course that covers everything from the basics of espresso preparation to advanced latte art techniques.
Introduction to Coffee:
Participants will gain an understanding of the coffee supply chain, coffee bean characteristics, and the fundamentals of espresso extraction. We delve into the science behind brewing the perfect cup, emphasizing the importance of consistency and quality.
Espresso Fundamentals:
From grinding and tamping techniques to shot extraction and milk texturing, we focus on developing the skills necessary to produce consistent and delicious espresso-based beverages.
We spend time with your staff analyzing their skillset to identifying gaps, so that we can work shoulder to shoulder and ensure these gaps addressed. Participants also learn to troubleshoot common espresso-related issues and maintain espresso machines.
Milk TEXTURING and Latte Art:
Building upon the espresso fundamentals, Baristas will delve into the art of milk steaming and latte art. Participants will master the techniques required to texture milk to the perfect consistency and create stunning latte art designs, including hearts, rosettas, and tulips. We also cover pouring techniques and presentation skills.
Advanced Barista Skills:
Participants will delve into the complexities of adjusting grind settings, dialing in flavors, and exploring different brewing methods. Additionally, the course covers sensory skills development and flavor profiling to create unique coffee experiences.
Specialty Coffee Brewing:
We explore alternative brewing methods, such as pour-over, cold brew, and batch brew. Participants will learn the nuances of each brewing method, including the proper grind size, water temperature, and extraction times. We also highlight the importance of understanding different coffee origins and their impact on flavor profiles.
Barista Essentials:
Participants gain insights into a broader understanding to the roles and responsibilities of a barista. the focus here is to ensure our barista are setting up for success the moment they walk in to begin their shift. This includes workflow optimization, inventory management, troubles shooting and customer service. Participants will also learn about ethical sourcing, sustainability practices, and the role of baristas in promoting responsible coffee consumption.
